Percy Bysshe Shelley memorial plaque

The plaque in question is located in Via del Corso, in the stretch of road included in the Rione Colonna district, commemorates the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley (Horsham 1792-Gulf of La Spezia 1822) and is located near the house where the poet lived. The plaque was placed here in 1892 by the Municipality of Rome. As reported to us by a user, the plate originally reported an error: instead of "I Cenci" (the Cencis) it was written "La Cenci" (the Cenci girl). This error did not go unnoticed and it seems that it was the Italian poet Giosuè Carducci who corrected it. Over time, however, the word "La", initially covered up, resurfaced and today we see the articles "La" and "I" superimposed, which explains the strange letter seen in that line.

Plate of the twinning between Via del Babuino and Madison Avenue

This plaque, placed in Via del Babuino near the intersection with Via Laurina, in the Campo Marzio district, was placed by the Municipality of Rome together with the Madison Avenue B.I.D. (Buiseness Improvement District) and the Via del Babuino Association on April 21, 2004, to celebrate the twinning between Via del Babuino and Madison Avenue in New York which took place on October 16, 2002. The plaque is written both in Italian and in English, precisely in the spirit of the aforementioned twinning.
