Continuous Monument (Grand Hotel Colosseo)

The Continuous Monument, or Grand Hotel Colosseo, is a project created by the Superstudio group, which, as is typical of this group, proposes a radical and experimental architecture to the point of being mainly a research with provocative tones.

The project, in fact, appears to be primarily an exercise in style, as the construction of this building was never considered. In the provocative idea, the Continuous Monument is a set of continuous grids that replace traditional architecture following the line theorized by the movement of radical architecture according to which "everything can be architecture".

The provocation takes place by inserting this monument - thought to be a hotel with an ultra-exclusive location - exactly above the Colosseum, one of the most symbolic moments of Rome and Roman architecture.
